Why am I doing this??
This website is therapy for me. It is my attempt to document what it's like being involved in a program like this. The home page will be updated daily. If this works as planned, you will share in what it's like to be involved with a FIRST team. This site is a lot like out teams robot, it's a work in progress. It may not always work correctly, there may be a few mis-spellings and I may just screw it up. Like our robot, it's not the end result that is important, it's the journey. What we learn along the way, stays with us for a lifetime.
The FIRST program is about giving high school students a real world experience. We need more students to study engineering and technology. The high school enviroment is our last chance to get students excited about these fields. We bring the students together with local engineers to complete a challenge. The hook that is used, is the buliding of a very cool robot designed to compete on a playing field against other very cool robots.
